Coastal Sealife Pillows and Coastal Decor

It’s been hot, hot, hot!!  Temps reaching 90+ and the humidity makes it feel over 100. The only place for me is the beach. My imaginative vision for a dreamy beach front cottage makes relaxing at the beach even more enjoyable.

Sun, Sea, Sand, Sip, Snack, Nap, Dream………

Thru the years I have collected coastal décor items for my dream beach cottage ( a girl can dream right).  During the summer I bring out coastal items for a  spin, but then they are placed right back into boxes and put on the shelf 😦  just waiting for their permanent place at the cottage.

The coastal items I love love love are my favs……these gorgeous pillows! I can’t help myself when it comes to intricate beautiful designer pillows. The three smaller pillows are by Saro Sealife Neptunian Collection.  The details!!! Jute embroidered sea creatures in vibrant blue on crisp cream cotton with background designs of coral.  Burlap flange border and 20″ down filled….. OMGosh!

The Seahorse pillow is the newest to my collection

I made the larger pillow last year with fabric purchased from Joanns. Sealife Marine Solarium outdoor fabric. For added texture to coordinate with the Saro pillows, I braided jute and applied it in a haphazard design. I also applied glitter on the blue sea life, and rhinestones in the eyes of the sea creatures. :-)…ya’know I just had to add a touch of shimmer and a zebra border with brush fringe for drama. (also shown on the Pillow Page)

Now you might say…nice pillows.  But I’m not done.  I really really NEED to finish this sealife pillow collection. 🙂 Here are two more that will soon be delivered at my doorstep. Where will I put them???? Don’t know, Don’t care… Got to have them. They are gorgeous.  After all, I have to complete the collection right?

Ok..so what other coastal items are waiting to be displayed at my dream Seaside Beach Cottage

Here is last years’ Seaside tablescape (also shown on Tablescapes for Two page)

Of course I have a ton of sea shells. I promised myself…no more shells! But they look great in apothecary jars

A while back I purchased two beautiful pelicans by Fitz and Floyd Cape Coral collection A large dough bowl filled with sand, large shells and candles

A small wall space now has a seaside vibe. The large conch shell was dropped and the top broke off. (so much for resin)  So to make the best of falling pieces I drilled small holes in the back to screw in a D-ring hook. The broken top made the opening for florals. 🙂 Yup, Hooked that turtle up too. 🙂

Created little shell florals (so cute), shadow boxes and the faux coral candle holders were a steal on Ebay

Slowly I’m creating and gathering my décor collection for our seaside cottage

and if that day never comes to be… no problem…it’s all good, it’s alright and so sweet in my dreams…… 🙂

Stay Cool……Enjoy your week-end

  Until next time…………….

Sew, Create and enjoy loving your home

  1. I am a shell lover too, and am drooling over your beautiful pillows! Just gorgeous!!! I love what you did on the wall too, so creative and the plant added to the broken shell is just brilliant! I hope your dreams come true some day, but I love that you are living your dream now Linda!

  2. Hi Linda, I think you will like the couching foot — I wish I still had photos of the pillows I made– they are on a dead laptop before I got a cloud account 😦 You can do all kinds of fun things!

  3. My Sewful Retirement: Hi there. Thanks so much. What a great foot attachement! I have cording feet but not that one. I just researched and ordered one. Thanks so much for the info. Have a great week-end. 🙂
